Fair offers group admission discounts and discounted advance sale tickets
Businesses and organizations can buy reduced-price admission tickets to the 2010 New York State Fair from now until Aug. 13.
The Fair sells group admission tickets on a sliding scale that offers discounts below the standard $6 per-ticket price of advance-sale tickets. Regular general admission tickets cost $10 at the gate once the Fair begins.
Offering employees, clients or volunteers reduced-price admission tickets so they can spend a fun day at the Fair is a great way for organizations to show their appreciation.
Last year, the Fair sold nearly 11,700 reduced-price tickets through its group sales program, resulting in savings to thousands of families.
Group admission discounts:
- Tickets sold in groups of 80 to 250 cost $5.75 each.
- Tickets sold in groups of 251 to 499 cost $5.50 each.
- Tickets sold in groups of 500 or more cost $5.25 each.
In addition to buying group admission tickets, businesses and organizations can purchase $5 parking passes and $14 midway coupon ride books. The ride books contain $24 worth of ride coupons per book. They can be used on both the Midway and Kiddieland.

The Fair's website includes an order form that can be completed and mailed to the Fair with a company check or money order. The tickets may be picked up at the Fair or they can be sent by certified mail for an additional cost.
The deadline to participate is Aug. 13.
Regional Ticket Outlets
At ticket outlets throughout New York State, $6 one-day advance sale tickets and $14 discount midway ride books are on sale through Aug. 25. The $6 advance sale tickets offer a 40-percent savings off of the $10 admission price charged at the gate. The discount midway ride books offer a savings of $10 off the value of the 24 tickets in the book (each ride requires two or more coupons). The books will not be available once the Fair opens.
Fair Box Office
At the New York State Fair Box Office, $6 one-day advance sale tickets, $30 six-day fairgoer passes, $14 discount midway ride books and $5 daily parking passes are available. The Box Office is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Grandstand Concert Tickets
The New York State Fair is a 12-day celebration of the best in New York agriculture, entertainment, art and commerce that has become an annual summer tradition for families throughout New York. This year, it will take place Aug. 26 to Sept. 6.
